Hey there,

Last week, I had the HUGE honor of having the tables turned on me. I was hanging out with John Spencer Ellis at Sam Bakhtiar’s event and we got to talking.

He asked if he could interview me. Of course I was like… HELL YEAH!!!

So below is the interview that John did with me. We covered some really cool topics, especially when it comes to overcoming limitations, taking action, and revealing some secrets on the interviewing process.

If you don’t know, John is actually a pro when it comes to interviews. He knows how to really make an impact with them, and how to use them as leveraging tool to build your brand and business.

So it was a very interesting conversation. Especially since John knew how to ask the tough questions.

The fun part was we left in all the mistakes and screw ups so you can see how to keep pushing through things if you ever get into that situation when you’re being interviewed by the media.

And this is also the first time I revealed a bunch of the techniques I use to take action on things, and also some insider tips on how I do interviews.

So take a look, and then let me know what you think in the comments below.

  1. Loved it!!! Turning the tables was a great idea and JSE did a great job interviewing “The Interview Guy”.

I enjoyed your conversation about the younger generation being afraid of failure. When I began my business (26 years ago), one of my first business mentors told me “Don’t worry, you’re at a great age to fail…because you’ve got nothing to lose and plenty of time to recover.” That really gave me the confidence to go ‘All In’ and not worry about failure.

And now, looking back, I can’t count the number of times I’ve been rejected…and truth be told, it didn’t stop me from going forward and doing something or getting something even bigger and better.

Okay, since I don’t have a ‘hook’, and I’m not really very cool, I’d better say good bye for now…

Thanks Greg. Oh, and you have a hook or two Greg. You’ve trained over 40,000 people if I’m not mistaken. That’s a pretty big hook. And also, you run one of the most successful corporate fitness programs I know of. Both of those sound good to me.
